Mirrors


We have special friends that we see everyday
Kiko-san says my friend looks just like me
We talk and chatter all day long
But we never meet

Mommy tells us that our friends are
Just us looking in our mirrors
We just don’t believe her
She can’t be right, there is no
Such thing as budgies in a mirror

    ‘Mirrors’ is clever in its writing…it shows how an every day action taken for granted by we who are not budgies is looked upon very differently by Josie and Kiko-san…this poem is fun in its concept and nature.
